The CBS dramedy So Help Me Todd features Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden as a no-nonsense attorney Margaret Wright who is really good at what she does. The show also features Skylar Astin as Todd, her son who is very talented, but he is a little misguided. She hires him as her law firm’s in-house investigator.
Each week the two take on cases and all the while, Margaret tries to put Todd on the right track to live as a grown adult — like every good mother wants. The series gives dysfunctional family love with Margaret as well as Todd and his siblings Allison (Madeline Wise) and Lawrence (Matthew Wilkas)
This week’s episode directed by Todd Holland is appropriately titled “Is The Jury Out?”, Todd asks for Lawrence’s help to find out the sexual orientation of a judge. Also, with her client’s livelihood at stake, Margaret and Lyle (Tristen J. Winger) search for a reluctant witness. GLAAD is excited to share an exclusive clip from Thursday night’s episode where Lawrence talks about being labeled as “gay” and how LGTBQ adults have life problems like everyone else that isn’t defined by identity.
Show executive produce Scott Prendergast, who co-wrote this episode with Katherine Langenfeld, based the story on his personal experience. The new episode of So Help Me Todd premieres on Thursday, April 18 (9:01-10 PM, ET/PT) on CBS and on Paramount+.
