1.) Housekeeping For Beginners hits select theaters today! The drama follows Dita, who finds herself raising her terminally ill girlfriend Suada’s two daughters—a young child and a rebellious teenager—despite never wanting to be a mother. Dita’s gay friend Toni (out actor Vladimir Tintor) is recruited to be the girls’ legal father as a shield against homophobic legalities. In a household of struggle and conflict, the unlikely group of outsiders creates their own sense of belonging and family. 2.) The official trailer for Cuckoo, starring multi-hyphenate Hunter Schafer, is finally here! The psychological horror film finds 17-year-old Gretchen (Schafer) forced to leave her American home to live with her father’s new family at a resort in the German Alps. But something isn’t right in this supposed paradise. As her father’s boss Mr. König takes a strange interest in Gretchen’s mute half-sister Alma, it becomes clear that a sinister presence is lurking. Violent images and noises plague Gretchen’s mind, and she discovers a shocking secret concerning her own family. See the trailer below now, and catch Cuckoo in theaters August 9!
3.) Neon dropped the official trailer for Babes, an upcoming comedy feature starring and co-written by queer comedian and actress Ilana Glazer. The film sees childhood best friends Eden (Glazer) and Dawn (Michelle Buteau) navigating their very different stages of adulthood—with Eden being single and carefree, while Dawn is newly a mother. But when a one-night stand results in pregnancy, Eden decides to have a baby herself, putting their friendship to the test. Catch this complex and humorous look at women friendship, motherhood, and life in theaters May 17, and see the trailer below now!
4.) The first Joker: Folie à Deux poster has been unveiled—featuring queer multi-hyphenate Lady Gaga decked out in the iconic Harley Quinn look. DC also released an audio preview on TikTok, in which Gaga as Harley Quinn can be heard saying, “You can do anything you want… you’re Joker.” The upcoming Joker sequel is a jukebox musical and is set to hit theaters this October. Details of the plot have been kept under wraps, but look out for the official trailer dropping next week on April 9!

5.) Plainclothes, starring out actor Russell Tovey, has finished filming! Drawing inspiration from true events, the 1990s drama is the story of an undercover officer assigned to entrap and arrest gay men—until he finds himself falling for one of them. Stay tuned as more details are revealed.

6.) The trailer for RuPaul’s Drag Race Live UNTUCKED is here! This six-part docu-series is a drama-filled behind-the-scenes look at the Las Vegas live show based on RuPaul’s popular reality TV series. RuPaul’s Drag Race Live UNTUCKED stars Alexis Mateo, Bosco, Coco Montrese, Derrick Barry, Kennedy Davenport, Latrice Royale, Lawrence Chaney and Pangina Heals. 7.) 9-1-1 has officially been renewed for an eighth season! The popular ABC procedural drama is co-created by Ryan Murphy and centers around the lives of LA first responders. ABC has also renewed Will Trent for a third season. The drama is a police procedural based on Karin Slaughter’s book series. The titular character was abandoned as a child and forced to endure growing up in the Atlanta foster care system. Now as an adult, he has become a Special Agent in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and is using his position to make a difference. Among the cast is Cora Lu Tran, who plays nonbinary character Nico. You can catch Will Trent season 2 now, airing on Tuesdays and streaming on Hulu!

8.) Queer popstar Chappell Roan dropped her highly anticipated new song, “Good Luck, Babe,” teasing that it is the “first song of a new chapter.” In more music news, sister pop duo REYNA released their music video for “Good Time,” a track off their new EP Limonada. Additionally, queer singer-songwriter Katie Pruitt’s new album Mantras came out today in conjunction with the release of a music video for album track “Self Sabotage.” Queer artist Medium Build’s anticipated debut full length album Country also dropped today alongside the official music video for “Stick Around!” Finally, nonbinary singer and songwriter Jazmin Bean shared their new music video for “Shit Show,” a song off their recent debut album Traumatic Livelihood. 9.) Gay actor Jim Parsons is set to star in the upcoming Broadway revival of Our Town! Thornton Wilder’s 1938 play is a look at life in a fictional early 1900s American town through the everyday lives of its residents. Parsons will play the “Stage Manager,” the narrator and guide through the three-act play. Performances will begin this fall at the Barrymore Theatre, with previews starting on September 17, followed by the official opening night on October 10!

10.) The 2024 Popcorn List it out, featuring 20 festival-favorite independent films that still do not have domestic U.S. distribution. Among the list are six queer films! Asog incorporates both fictional and documentary elements as Filipino transgender comedian and activist Rey “Jaya” Aclao and his former student Arnel Pablo embark on a road trip to a drag competition. In their travels, they encounter people whose lives have been greatly affected by climate change, colonialism, and corporate greed. Caterpillar examines the desire for certain societal beauty standards and the murky nature of the cosmetics industry. The documentary follows a queer man in his 50s who, due to concerns with his looks, has found a company that claims they can surgically change his eye color. Chasing Chasing Amy, produced by GLAAD’s own Senior Director of Entertainment & Transgender Inclusion Alex Schmider, is a documentary exploring the complex legacy of Kevin Smith’s ‘90s rom-com Chasing Amy (1997) and its impact on LGBTQ people, including director Sav Rodgers. Truth Be Told is a documentary balancing religion and queerness. It takes the form of both a healing journey and an examination the Black church and its relationship with the LGBTQ community. All the Flowers (Todas las flores) is a portrait of the community of trans sex workers who find shelter and relative safety at “Tabaco y Ron,” a small brothel in a red light district of Colombia. Egghead & Twinkie is a heartwarming story bursting with animations and friendship. After an uncomfortable coming out to her conservative parents, an Asian-American teen and her best friend embark on a road trip to meet her online crush in person. Find the trailer below!
