1.) The official trailer for Indigo Girls: It’s Only Life After All has dropped! The documentary will encapsulate the music, activism, and community surrounding iconic queer band Indigo Girls’ Amy Ray and Emily Saliers. For one night only, the film will be found in theaters April 10, followed by a digital release on May 7. In the meantime, check out the trailer below!
2.) The trailer for The Listener has debuted, starring out actress Tessa Thompson. In this intimate and emotional film, Thompson is the only on-screen actress (not including her real-life dog!) and the supporting voice cast includes out stars Alia Shawkat, Margaret Cho, and Blue Del Barrio. Thompson plays a crisis helpline operator named Beth who over the course of one night engages with a variety of different voices confiding their struggles and stories over the phone. 3.) A first look at Close to You is here! Starring and co-written by transgender actor Elliot Page, the indie drama finds Page’s character, Sam, apprehensively traveling home for the first time since his transition. This homecoming and an unexpected chance encounter with an old friend force long-buried memories and feelings to the surface. The film had its European premiere this week at London’s LGBTQ festival BFI Flare, and is set for a U.S. theatrical release this summer. Watch Deadline’s exclusive first look at Close to You now!

4.) Out singer and actor Demi Lovato has joined the cast of Tow, a new film centering the true story of Amanda Ogle, a homeless Seattle woman who battled a tow-company in court to reclaim her car and her life. This marks Lovato’s first dramatic role in a feature. In more casting news, out actor Richard Armitage has been cast in Netflix‘s Harlan Coben adaptation Missing You. The film follows detective Kat Donovan as she discovers her eleven-years-estranged fiancé on a dating app, reopening buried secrets and unraveling mysteries of the past. 5.) Wolfe Releasing—the oldest and largest exclusive North American producer and distributor of LGBTQ films—has acquired Sue Bird: In the Clutch after its Sundance premiere. The documentary centers basketball legend Sue Bird’s last WNBA season and her continuing impact. Bird reflects on her incredible career, as well as her 2017 public coming out. Netflix also plans to stream the film this spring!

6.) Transgender filmmaker Isabel Sandoval is returning to the Philippines to film her latest feature: a 1960’s noir crime thriller entitled Moonglow. The film follows a jaded police detective, who unbeknownst to her colleagues is the mastermind behind a successful heist. Soon, she is paired up with an obsessively truth-seeking detective partner to crack the very crime that she orchestrated. This is Sandoval’s fourth feature, and it is set to begin shooting April 9!

7.) Nonbinary comedian Mae Martin is set to host an episode of the Canadian documentary series The Nature of Things, titled Fluid: Life Beyond the Binary. The documentary episode will explore the scientific queerness occurring in nature, breaking down binaries in the process. Martin will also debunk harmful transphobic myths. 8.) Season four of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Down Under is officially announced! Premiering later this year, ten new contestants from Australia and New Zealand will battle for the cash prize and title of “Down Under’s Next Drag Superstar.” This season will also see RuPaul pass the hosting torch to judge Michelle Visage, marking the first time she is filling the role of main host of a Drag Race franchise. RuPaul will remain involved as an executive producer. Australian comedian and actor Rhys Nicholson will return as a judge as well, joined by some of Down Under’s drag royalty throughout the season. Find Drag Race: Down Under later this year on WOW Presents Plus in the US and select territories including New Zealand, day and date with its local airing on Stan in Australia.

9.) The formerly canceled post-apocalyptic thriller series Snowpiercer has found a home with AMC! Lesbian character Bess Till is among the ensemble cast of survivors in a 2026 world where the Earth has become a frozen landscape. The show’s already completed season four—its final season—is set to be released next year.

10.) Bisexual bedroom pop singer-songwriter ROREY dropped the first single, “Stand By,” off her upcoming sophomore EP, Dysphoria, which is set to be released May 17. Other recent single releases include out alternative artist WILLOW’s “symptom of life,” trans multi-hyphenate Britney Manson’s “American Dream,” and out genre bending artist Kayne the Lovechild’s “Banjee Girls,” along with the accompanying music video. Additionally, gay actor and singer Ben Platt dropped the first single, “Andrew,” from his upcoming third studio album Honeymind, out May 31, and trans-led band The FMs released their new single “Transformation Dreams” and announced their sophomore double album PINK + BLACK, out May 10. Post punk queer quintet Walt Disco also released their new single “You Make Me Feel So Dumb,” along with announcing their new album The Warping, dropping June 14.
