This year marked GLAAD’s 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, showcasing a variety of individuals for their contributions to queer storytelling in Film, TV, News, and so much more. The GLAAD Media Awards, which helps fund GLAAD’s work in LGBTQ+ acceptance and media visibility took place in Los Angeles on March 13, 2024, and in New York on May 11, 2024. This year’s Los Angeles GLAAD Media Awards was hosted by Wayne Brady, and honored Oprah Winfrey and Niecy Nash-Betts with the Vanguard Award and the Stephen F. Kolzack Award respectively.
In addition to being nominated, they have also been honored and celebrated at GLAAD Communities of Color & Media Team’s 3rd Annual #GLAADHonors celebration on March 13, 2024, in Los Angeles at the GLAAD Media Awards. This event is intentionally geared to recognize Black LGBTQ+ nominees of the GLAAD Media Awards for their efforts and contributions to the Black LGBTQ+ Community.
