The Fab Five are back! The wait is almost over for the highly anticipated new season of Netflix’s Queer Eye. The season 8 trailer was released today, announcing 6 new episodes will be available on Wednesday, January 24th!
The trailer reminds fans that Queer Eye is so much “more than a makeover.” The all-LGBTQ gang, consisting of hairstylist Jonathan Van Ness, food and wine expert Antoni Porowski, culture expert Karamo Brown, fashion stylist Tan France, and interior designer Bobby Berk, work as a team to holistically change the lives of deserving individuals from all over the country.
This season of the Emmy and GLAAD Media Award winning series, the Fab Five are heading back to New Orleans “to jazz up the lives of their heroes – one emotional makeover at a time.” The stars of this season include a former nun, “one of the biggest KISS super-fans of all time,” and the football coach for the Louisiana School for the Deaf, just to name a few. Their stories are sure to inspire viewers while making them laugh, cry, and everything in between in the process.
“Let’s help this former nun find a future hon!” Karamo exclaims. Sneak peeks of some of the storylines the episodes will follow were shown in the trailer.
It is revealed that the football team at the Louisiana School for the Deaf is at risk of being cut, the owner of Doreen’s Sweet Shop is struggling to take over the family business, and one man has dedicated so much of his life to caring for his sick brother, he forgot how to take care of himself. “You love your brother so deeply, but I want to know who you are.”
The trailer is full of moving messages, which there are no shortage of throughout the series. “It’s ok to learn new things, it’s ok to be vulnerable,” Berk reminds viewers. “Our best time is now!” JVN says as they reveal the hero’s new look.
Finally, the trailer reveals “It’s never too late to say yass to a fresh start!”
