GLAAD’s Excellence in Media Award honoree Maren Morris, has consistently shown her support for the LGBTQ community through her music and activism. Now, In celebration of her latest EP, The Bridge, Morris is once again showcasing her unwavering dedication to the community.
In September, Morris revealed a special performance in Chicago for one night only in honor of The Bridge. The event, which took place on October 5th, was a sell-out, with a portion of each ticket sale going towards GLAAD. Following the triumph, Morris teamed up with drag superstar and advocate Peppermint and returned to The Bowery Ballroom in New York City for another sold out show on November 6th.

For the performance, Maren Morris partnered with PLUS1 and $5 from every ticket was donated to GLAAD The tickets were made available exclusively to The Lunatics, which is the name of Morris’s fan club. The name comes in response to a comment made by disgraced Fox News personality Tucker Carlson, who called Morris “lunatic” and a “fake country music singer” for speaking out in defense of transgender people.
Peppermint commenced the show with a vibrant fervor. She invigorated the audience with her captivating renditions of both original music and pop songs, such as P!NK’s “Get This Party Started.”. Peppermint, who audiences may know from when she etched her name in drag history by becoming the first openly transgender contestant during Season 9 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, A fierce activist and renowned, bold performer, Peppermint’s commitment to advocating for her community remains unwavering, as evidenced by her current role as a Board Member for GLAAD.
After Peppermint, Morris lit up the stage with a full band, delivering a captivating performance of all of her chart topping songs. During the show, she shared her excitement for her future in music, emphasized the significance of spreading love, and delivered an unforgettable, intimate performance that will forever resonate with her devoted fans.
