Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBTQ-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend. In solidarity with the members of SAG-AFTRA, GLAAD will not be reporting on news and projects from struck companies in the GLAAD Wrap until such time as a fair deal is reached between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP.
1.) Hit the theaters Christmas day to see Ferrari, a biopic of automotive mogul Enzo Ferrari (Adam Driver), whose family redefined the idea of the high-powered Italian sports car and practically spawned the concept of Formula One racing. This film features out actress Shailene Woodley alongside Adam Driver, Penélope Cruz, Patrick Dempsey, and more. Watch the trailer below for a sneak peak.
2.) Trans actor Bel Priestley and out non-binary actor Olive Gray star in the music video for “Closure” by British pop singer Henry Moodie. Priestley and Gray play queer lovers from “two alternate universes” in this three-minute ode to the queer clubs of London. Moodie expressed as an inspiration for Closure’s visuals, “I wanted this video to be a celebration of queer love, told by the exceptional Bel Priestley and Olive Gray. There’s no LGB without the T.” Rising pansexual star Baby Tate shares the official trailer for her highly-anticipated new EP Baby Tate Presents – Sexploration: The Musical. Watch HERE. 3.) Alt/pop queens and identical twins The Veronicas, out singer Jessica and Lisa Origliasso, released their new single “Perfect” today. Following their certified platinum hit “Untouched,” the sisters are back to give us a riotous pop/rock anthem infused with 90’s style distorted guitars, shimmering melodies, and passionate adlibs. The spirited anthem reflects timely on society’s compulsion with comparison and perception, urging greater self-love, and mastery of your own design. Watch the music video for “Perfect” below!
6.) Out 100 is here with its 29th Edition highlighting this year’s most impactful and influential LGBTQ People! The list spans six categories including artists, disruptors, educators, groundbreakers, innovators, and storytellers who have used their platforms to provide resources, hope, and community through the darkness. This year’s cover star is Brandi Carlile, lesbian singer-songwriter and multiple Grammy winner. The list also includes Anthony Allen Ramos, GLAAD’s very own VP of Communications and Talent, and Juan Carlos Cruz, who serves on GLAAD’s board of directors and is a trusted adviser to Pope Francis.

7.) Elizabeth Hand’s A Haunting on the Hill was published this week, the first-ever novel authorized to return to the world of Shirley Jackson’s 1959 The Haunting of Hill House. The highly anticipated book follows Holly, a struggling playwright, who rents a mansion to write and rehearse her play with the accompaniment of her girlfriend Nissa and a few friends. 8.) Out non-binary author Isle McElroy has released their latest novel, People Collide. The book explores a heterosexual marriage through the lens of gender in this body-swapping page-turner.
