It’s been an exciting summer for Australian singer, songwriter, and drummer G FLIP. Not only have they just released their brand new album “Drummer” featuring hits like “Good Enough” and an accompanying music video, but they are now getting ready to hit the road on their first ever headlining tour, starting September 18th.
Between rehearsing for the tour and appearing on Selling Sunset with wife Chrishell Stause, G Flip made time in their busy schedule to chat with GLAAD’s Anthony Allen Ramos live from the car!
“I’ve been playing drums since I was nine years old. So, I wanted to make a pop record that came from the drums up,” they said.
This is a theme that fans will be able to hear both in the album and see live on the tour, which will start in their home country of Australia. “There’s a lot of drumming some drum solos (at the shows) You know, a lot of the drum parts I wrote in the album I wrote for live. There’s a cool, like drum solo in the, in the the first song on the album called Seven Days, which is really fun for me to play. But yeah, lots of drums, a lot of big singing. A lot of just like running around high and it’s a very high energy show,” the pop-rock musician previewed.
G Flip spoke about how amazed they and their wife, reality star Chrishell Stause, were by Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour.” “I was honestly so amazed by the whole production of the Taylor Swift concert. Normally I would be like, taking notes and thinking about my show, but I was just so in awe of Taylor and the whole spectacle of that show that I was just like, wow, this is like, so phenomenal and it’s honestly one of the best shows I might have ever seen,” they said.
Audiences got to meet G FLIP in scenes with Stause in season 6 of Selling Sunset on Netflix. So, will we be seeing more of G FLIP in Season 7? “They’ve already filmed season six and seven back to back,” G FLIP explained. “We did film some scenes, so I might be there, I might not,” they said. It sounds like we’ll have to tune in to find out!
