NBC’s hit competition series “The Weakest Link” is celebrating Pride month by welcoming 8 drag queens to the competition! Each week, LGBTQ icon Jane Lynch hosts the beloved trivia competition series, where contestants answer 7 rounds of rapid-fire questions in hopes of being the night’s big winner of the cash prize.
Monday, June 5th, eight fierce drag queens, including WooWoo Monroe, Lili Whiteass, Scarlet Envy, Cierra Symone, Pickle, Kat Sass, Olivia Lux, and Gila Moonstar will be competing to outlast one another in this high-drama game of trivia.
Lynch then asks Scarlett Envy why she decided to become a drag queen. “I became a drag queen because of the health insurance and the 401k,” she joked. She then talks about her iconic TikTok trend she started, “Is it me? Am I the drama?”
With all the hateful protests and legislation being passed in hopes of erasing drag queens, it’s important for people to see that drag queens are just people too. They’re funny, smart, multi-talented artists, just trying to live their lives. To have this episode air on NBC is a major step in the right direction.
Additionally, after the series’ successful spring run, NBC’s “Weakest Link” returns to partner with Geeks Who Drink, the largest producer of live hosted trivia nights in the US, to bring 4-weeks of trivia to 700+ bars across the nation! These sponsored rounds will have trivia rounds themed around the fan-favorite game show! This sponsorship will kick-off the week of June 12th in a nod to Pride Month and as a follow-up to tomorrow night’s “Drag Extravaganza” episode, they’re hosting the following fun drag-themed events at LGBTQ+/drag bars:
- June 13 – Verdugo – Los Angeles, CA
- June 13 – Queen Anne’s Beerhall – Seattle, WA
- June 15 – Jagged Mountain Brewing – Denver, CO
They have beauty and brawn, but who has the brains to be crowned champion? Tune in on NBC to find out! “Weakest Link” airs Monday, June 5th, at 10pmET/PT. Stream the next day on Peacock.
