Musician Thomas Orlina has launched a new mental health song “This Time” and accompanying video to bring awareness to World Teen Mental Wellness Day which is recognized on March 2nd.
Orlina said that the video was made to “tackle this mental health subject and to provide hope to listeners and viewers to find their inner strength and overcome these challenges.”
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) states that one in five teenagers has a mental health condition while the World Health Organization (WHO) reports that half of all mental health issues start before a child reaches the age of 14. The most common mental illnesses in teens are generalized anxiety disorder, social phobias, and depression. Mental health struggles make up 16% of diseases and injuries in people ages 10 to 19.
“This Time” was co-written by Orlina and Christopher Bugna. The music video was directed by Sophie Peineke. Watch below.
