1.) The Conners fifth and longest season yet resumes after a month long break this week. The show follows the Conner clan as they cope with life in Lanford in a way they never have before. In the new episode, the death of a beloved teacher from Dan and Jackie’s high school brings old classmates together, while elsewhere Becky asks Darlene and Ben for a big favor. Ames McNamara plays Mark Healey II, a young gay character in the show. The Conners, Thursdays at 8pm on NBC.
2.) Peacock’s new high-stakes reality show The Traitors premieres Thursday! Hosted by gay actor Alan Cumming, this unscripted competition series is a nail-biting psychological adventure in which treachery and deceit are the name of the game. Twenty contestants (including reality A-listers) come together to complete a series of challenges with the objective of earning a cash prize. The catch? Three of the contestants coined “the traitors” will devise a plan to steal the prize from the other contestants coined “the faithful.” All 10 episodes will drop Thursday, so get ready to binge watch! The Traitors, Thursday on Peacock.
3.) The 80th Golden Globe Awards ceremony airs this Tuesday (the 10th), and there are a whole host of queer projects and performers up for awards! Queer projects include Everything Everywhere All At Once, Tár, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Abbott Elementary, Only Murders in the Building, The White Lotus, Hacks, and Better Call Saul. Queer actors nominated include Jeremy Pope, Aubrey Plaza, Hanna Einbinder, Emma d’Arcy, and Lady Gaga. Gay television mogul Ryan Murphy will receive the Carol Burnett Award. 4.) Racers, start your engines! RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15 aired a special two-part premiere last week on its new home, MTV! 16 new queens sashayed into the Werk Room, ready to compete in mainstay challenges like Snatch Game, the Rusical, the Ball, as well as some new challenges we’ve never seen before! Who will take home the crown and the record high prize of $200,000? You’ll have to watch to find out. May the best drag queen win! RuPaul’s Drag Race, Fridays at 8pm on MTV.
5.) The second season of Ginny & Georgia premiered last week on Netflix! In the show, runaway teen Ginny hopes to find a sense of home in a New England town after years of homelessness with her family. Season two brings new relationships and challenges to Wellsbury as secrets from the past come to the surface. Queer characters Maxine (Sara Waisglass), Nick (Dan Beirne), and Gabriel (Alex Mallari Jr.) are all set to return for the sophomore season. Ginny & Georgia, now streaming on Netflix.
6.) Mythic Quest’s third season came to a close last week. The Apple TV+ original sitcom gives a behind the scenes look at the triumphs and tribulations involved in bringing the largest multiplayer video game in history to life. This includes a relationship between The ensemble cast features two BIPOC queer leads, Rachel and Dana, both game testers that end up dating as the show progresses. With the show already renewed for a fourth season and a spin-off in the works, we should see plenty more of the Mythic Quest and GrimPop teams! Mythic Quest, now streaming on Apple TV+.
7.) Welcome to Chippendale’s inaugural season ended last week. The Hulu original drama told the story of Indian immigrant Somen “Steve” Banerjee who becomes the unlikely founder of a male revue that became a cultural phenomenon. The final episode finds Banerjee (Kumail Nanjiani) in a bucolic Swiss village, where sins finally catch up with him. Queer actor Murray Bartlett co-stars in the show as Nick De Noia, Banerjee’s partner early in his endeavor. Go check out Welcome to Chippendales, now streaming in full!
