1.) A24 has released the official trailer for out filmmaker Elegance Bratton’s narrative feature debut The Inspection. Inspired by Batton’s personal experience, the film follows Ellis French (out Emmy-nominee Jeremy Pope), a young, gay Black man who desperately seeks the approval of his mother and struggles to disguise his sexual orientation in the Marine Corps. After battling deep-seated prejudice at basic training, Ellis finds unexpected camaraderie and a new sense of belonging that ultimately shapes his identity and forever changes his life. 2.) Netflix has released first-look images of the Knives Out sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, starring out actress and singer Janelle Monáe. In the film, Detective Benoit (Daniel Craig) travels to Greece to delve into a mystery involving a new cast of colorful suspects. Check out the sneak peek below and watch Glass Onion December 23! In more film news, out actor, comedian, and producer, Aubrey Plaza has been set to join the cast of Francis Ford Coppola’s passion project Megalopolis. The film explores themes of political ambition, genius, and conflicted love, as the fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems.

3.) Netflix has released first look images and cast announcements for the upcoming fourth season of Sex Education. Out Schitt’s Creek showrunner and star Dan Levy and trans singer and contemporary pop artist Anthony Lexa have joined the ensemble, portraying Thomas Molloy (Levy), a famous author and Maeve’s tutor at her dream US Ivy League college, and Abbi (Lexa), a confident, popular, and self-assured student. In the season, Otis, Eric and their Moordale classmates start a new chapter at the progressive Cavendish Sixth Form College. Additionally, Sex Education has won ‘Best Comedy’ at the Edinburgh TV Awards!
4.) HBO has released first-look images and the official trailer for the second season of Spanish-language comedy Los Espookys, created by queer comedians Julio Torres and Ana Fabrega. The series includes queer characters Andrés (Torres) and Úrsula (Cassandra Ciangherotti), and the trailer reveals trans pop star Kim Petras in her TV debut as the bombshell Secretary of State Kimberly Reynolds. 5.) Shudder has released key art for its upcoming limited series Queer for Fear: The History of Queer Horror, featuring Lea DeLaria, Saturn Risin9, BenDeLaCreme and Mayhem Miller. Executive produced by out Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller, the four part docuseries re-examines the horror and thriller genre— from the pansy craze of the 1920’s influence on Universal Monsters and Hitchock to the AIDS epidemic’s influence on 80’s vampire films— as tales of survival that resonate with queer audiences everywhere. 6.) HBO has released the second teaser for their music industry drama series The Idol, featuring out stars Troye Sivan, Dan Levy, and Hari Nef. Set against the backdrop of the music industry in Los Angeles, the six-episode series centers on a self-help guru and leader of a modern cult, who develop a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol. 7.) Hulu has released the official trailer for season five of The Handmaid’s Tale. In the season, June (Elizabeth Moss) faces consequences for killing Commander Waterford while struggling to redefine her identity and purpose. June’s queer best friend Moira (out actress Samira Wiley) and her husband Luke (O-T Fagbenle) help fight Gilead from a distance as they continue their mission to save and reunite June’s daughter Hannah. The Handmaid’s Tale returns on September 14, with new episodes streaming weekly on Wednesdays; watch the trailer below!
8.) Netflix has announced a fourth and final season of superhero series The Umbrella Academy, featuring trans actor Elliot Page as returning queer character Viktor Hargreeves. In more renewal news, Julianna Margulies has been set to reprise her The Morning Show role as the lesbian news anchor Laura Peterson in the forthcoming third season.

9.) Queer The Voice Austalia finalist Johnny Manuel has released the first single “Again” off his upcoming EP Younger Skin, out October 7. Check out the soulful visualizer below!
