On Wednesday, July 27th, 2022, at CAGES in DTLA, GLAAD’s Communities of Color and Media Department hosted a private pilot screening with Bernard David Jones, creator and writer of new series Remember, which is supported by WarnerMedia’s 150 Initiative. The screening was powered by GLAAD, OneFifty, and the Black Leadership AIDS Crisis Coalition (BLAAC).
Remember tells the story of a forgetful millennial and his four best friends as they navigate queer love, rocky careers, and the highs and lows of friendship, all while realizing their friend’s forgetfulness may be more serious than they ever imagined.
The series features Hosea Chanchez (The Game), Devere Rogers (My Spy), Griffin Matthews (The Flight Attendant), and Brandon Gill (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice) alongside Bernard David Jones (The Mayor, Scroll Wheel of Time).

The event was truly a night to remember, as the screening and pilot episode showcased the ramifying power of Black LGBTQ+ stories on-screen. Remember speaks to the ever-expanding possibilities for Black queer joy as you navigate various stages of life and face seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
The purpose of the screening was to engage the show’s core audience, while giving studio executives, producers, and networks the opportunity to inquire about future development opportunities. Over 200 guests attended the event, and the audience was full of cast, crew, friends, executives, media, celebrities, and influencers. Following the screening there was a talkback with the cast and director, led by Ryan Mitchell, and a mixer with music provided by DJ DarJar.
Both the screening and the cast’s red carpet appearance were covered in BLACKFILM and ESSENCE.
GLAAD was excited to support the event and the new series, Remember, as it furthers our work in driving equitable and representative storytelling in Hollywood.
