1) A trailer was released for the new Scream film, the fifth in the series. Out actress Jasmin Savoy-Brown has joined the cast and told Logo that her character Mindy, part of a new generation of Woodsboro High students, will be queer in the fim. Scream hits theaters January 14, 2022; check out the trailer below!
2) Out Oscar-Winning actress Anna Paquin is set to star in the upcoming film A Bit of Light. In the film, Paquin’s character, Ella, now living with her father (Ray Winstone) and newly sober, rediscovers her self-worth after having temporarily given up custody of her young daughters to her ex-husband and his new partner.
3) Out Emmy-nominated actress and producer Tessa Thompson will star in The Listener, directed by Steve Buscemi. The Creed star will play the character Beth, a helpline volunteer caught in the midst of a raging tsunami.

4) Paramount+ has dropped the season four trailer of Star Trek: Discovery, set to launch on November 18, 2021. The Emmy Award-Winning program has featured the first openly gay couple in a Star Trek series, Paul Stamets (out actor Anthony Rapp) and Hugh Culber (out actor Wilson Cruz); the first non-binary character, Adira Tal (Blu Del Barrio); the first transgender character, Gray Tal (out actor Ian Alexander); as well as lesbian character Jett Reno (out actor Tig Notaro). 5) HBO Max has put into development Misfit City, an adaptation of the bestselling BOOM! Studios graphic novel series, created by Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Kurt Lustgarten and animated by out illustrator Naomi Franquiz. The series follows an adventure-seeking female friend group as they discover an ancient pirate map in their tiny Oregon town, featuring queer characters Ed and Dylan. Popular writers Hannah Hafey and Kaitlin Smith will serve as creators and executive producers of the project.

6) Amazon has unveiled the official trailer for Fairfax, an adult animated series featuring out actors Kiersy Clemons, Peter S. Kim, and Jaboukie Young-White. Fairfax premieres October 29, 2021. Check out the trailer below!
7) Apple TV+ has released a trailer for the third and final season of the critically-acclaimed comedy series Dickinson. The season will take place amid the American Civil War, following queer character Emily Dickinson (Hailee Steinfeld) as she attempts to keep hope alive with her poetry, while navigating her romance with queer character Sue Gilbert (out actor Ella Hunt). The first three episodes will premiere on Friday, November 5, and new episodes will be released every Friday until December 24, 2021. Watch the trailer below!
8) Netflix has released a season two trailer for the bilingual comedy-drama Gentified. The show features queer characters Yessika Castillo (Julissa Calderón) and Ana Morales (Karrie Martin) and premieres November 19, 2021. Watch the trailer below! In other TV news, Peacock’s Saved by the Bell is returning for a second season on Wednesday, November 24. In the season, Bayside High will resume in-person learning and feature the transgender character Lexi, played by trans actress Josie Totah.
9) Out singer, songwriter and actor Demi Lovato has released a single entitled “Unforgettable (Tommy’s Song)” to honor their late friend who struggled with drug addiction. All of the proceeds will go towards “The Voice Project”, a non-profit that advocates for recovery at a grassroots level— watch the official lyric video here.
