The first of two standalone episodes for HBO’s Euphoria airs today, Sunday, Dec. 6 on the streamer. It was released early on HBO Max on Friday as well, and is available to stream there. The special holiday-themed episodes are intended to bridge the first and second seasons of the hit series. The first episode, titled “Part 1: Rue,” will focus on Zendaya’s character Rue as she deals with aftermath of her girlfriend Jules (out trans actress Hunter Shafer) leaving on a train after their high school formal dance. Adventure-mystery drama The Wilds is out this Friday on Amazon Prime. The series follows a group of young girls, including a few queer characters, whose plane lands on a deserted island. As the girls learn more about each other and their past, they come to realize they may not have ended up on the island by accident. The Wilds: Friday, on Amazon Prime.
Out producer and director Ryan Murphy’s latest film The Prom premieres this Friday, Dec. 11 on Netflix. The film follows a group of has-been Broadway performers as they travel to small-town Indiana to help a young queer girl go to prom with the person of her choosing. The Prom: Friday, on Netflix.
